I like Dragonfly, I haven’t been there for quite a while but the crowd is more mature there compared to X2; X2 is full of students, mostly young Chinese Indonesians and the bartenders can’t make anything. As Silver Angel said, try Buddha Bar or Loewy. Cork and Screw is nice as well.

Parvita or anyone knowledgeable,
OMG! Where shall I take me man. Any suggestions on Red Square, X2 or Dragonfly Lounge? I’m new here. Where shall I go and not encounter the Ayams…Is it true that when men get drunk in bars and clubs they become dead vulnerable to Ayams collecting their numbers and get all touchy-feely esp when expat guys are w/o ladies…and they are quite agressive I heard! Where shall I go and where shall I not go?

Recentlly, Budha Bar & Loewy are worth to visit. Those places are perfect for hanging out and chatting. Full of young & middle age crowd, both local & foreigner. Loewy doesnt have a lot of option for food. Mostly light food, but its quite enough, and the taste is good. Anyway, we’re paying for the ambience, warm, friendly, no loud music.
This places is always crowded, reserved in advance will be better. As well as Budha Bar, comfy couches and chairs are difficult to come, unless you’re lucky.
Well, I was not lucky on my first visit in Budha Bar, I had 2 bad experiences, first when I called for reservation, someone on the phone said, I dont have to make reservation for the lounge, its only suggested for dinner in 2nd Fl, so when I got there, no space were available. And the second, when I called the Bar and asked for direction , someone over the phone made me lost and have to turn arround Gambir and back to Cut Mutia. But anyway, I enjoyed the quility time with friends, so it could ease my dissapointment.
Those places looks dont have ‘ayam’ in it. The visitor are looking educated and look mostly from bussiness workers. Not like BATS, i agree with all negative comments about BATS about a lot of aggresive ‘ayam’. This place is teribble, Indeed, I dont like this place. I had bad experience with this place.

Now Cork and Screw is open at Plaza Indonesia. Haven’t checked the place yet. The one at Wisma Kodel is still there.

stumbled across the blog and it’s pretty good…
I think I’ll give Cork & Screw a try then, since my friends are always urging me to go there but I haven’t got the chance to…
Oh, and for BCC in Cipete Raya, they got free Wi-fi for the customers.. (^_^)

as long as I know, most places in Jakarta serve male services, how about female services, some times girls need an escape isnt it?
